This scene was originally conceived for my si-fi story... 'The Replicant' A group of 23rd Century high school students time travel back to Al Capone's gangland era and meet a beautiful dancing girl who is victimised, first by a disapproving, puritanical father, then by a violent street punk. I finished the story and then lost interest in it... To me, writing is like reading someone else's book, only I am in control of the action and dialogue.
I submitted my stories to a few publishers once and got polite rejection letters. Evidently this has happened to 99% of writers who later became best sellers and even great writers. I'm not placing myself in their league... But you get my drift.
